Rules for Competitions at Eisteddfod

Combat Heraldry

· A competition of heralding a fighter into a lyst, with a twist.
· All whom which to participate will receive a fictitious fighter whom to herald into a lyst. 
· There will be one announcement per entry, it will be based upon their announcement.
· Competition is designed for the entertainment of the crowd.


Singing

· A competition based upon singing.
· Songs must be of a period style.
· Songs need not be original.
· Groups are acceptable
· Competition is designed for the entertainment of the crowd.


Poetry/prose

· A competition based upon the reading/reciting of a poem or prose.
· Poem/prose must be of a period style.
· Poem/prose need not be original.
· Competition is designed for the entertainment of the crowd.


Wordsmith

· A competition based upon the creation of a new song, poem or story. 
· All whom wish to participate will receive a listing of 12 words that they must work into a song, poem, or story of their own creation.
· Should try to be in period style. 
· Competition is designed for the entertainment of the crowd.


Toast

· A competition based upon the skill of being able to present a well spoken toast.
· At feast, a toast celebrating either his majesty, her majesty, or the excellencies of Darkwater.
· Due to limited time for feasting and toasting, limited to the first 10 people expressing interest in the competition.


Ex Miscellanea

· A competition designed to allow the fine performers of Trimaris to present bardic skills and talents that do not fall into the format of the other competitions.
· Each act limited to 5 minutes.
· Competition is designed for the entertainment of the crowd.


"Sing to Swing"

· Heavy Lyst
· To participate:  Must present some level of bardic entertainment to be able to compete in the lyst.  This can be a song, a dance, a story, or anything else in a bardic format.
