At Trident Tourney 2010, the new Bard of Darkwater will be chosen.
There are three types of entries with which to compete:
Storytelling – singing – recitation of poem/selection from a play or book
Rules:
The entry must be period or SCA themed – a Darkwater SCA theme is even better.
Original works are preferred and strongly encouraged.
Filks are not permitted.
You may do more than one piece, but your complete entry should be no longer than 5 – 8 minutes.
Your piece does not need to be memorized, but it is recommended.
You will be the Bard until the following year’s Trident Tourney event, typically a period of one year and a day, and responsible for teaching, writing and sharing tales and songs of the Barony and Kingdom with the populace. You must be available to attend Court the day of the competition if you win.

As a member of the baronial court, you have made both friends and enemies. Most of the later, you have been able to put down threw political means, but this one will not quit, and it is time to settle your differences in a more permanent fashion. While your counterpart agrees, you must be ware, as dueling is forbidden in their excellencies court, and you must finish your work before the guards find you and arrest you both.
Join us for a timed maze fight, as all vie for the courts favor. Extra points awarded for both in persona insults, and using a secondary that you can justify having in court with you. Cloak will get the extra point, and any others will be at the discretion of the martial in charge.
All fighters who wish to take part in the lyst will need a consort and must submit a letter of intent by no later than an hour before the lyst on January 16th, the day of the tourney.
