Here are the confirmed classes so far.  Check back often, as more classes will be added soon.  Please remember that this list is not final, and is subject to change at any time.

How to Site HeraldMaster Haakon BjornssonCongratulations!! – You are the Site Herald at an event for the first time.  The problem is, you are not sure exactly what needs to be done, how to do it, or what equipment you need.  Do I need help? Can I do it all myself?  The answers to these and other questions, will all be answered in this class.
   
How-to Classes  
Basic Sewing GuidelinesMistress Constance de BarfleurThis class to cover:  Discussion and examples of many types of fabric and how to prepare them for sewing; Tools that are necessary, and those that are nice to have; Pitfalls in sewing with your machine or by hand; Basic care of your sewing machine; Handout of modern fabric for use in medieval costuming appropriate by period.  Students are encouraged to bring in problems/questions they have had for discussion. There will be a $2 materials fee.
   
Basic T Tunic ClassMistress Constance de BarfleurThis class covers:  Making a tunic pattern; Measurements needed and ease necessary for comfort; How to lay out your pattern, pinning and directional cutting; Directional sewing by machine and hand.  Students are encouraged to bring in problems/questions they have had for discussion.  There will be a $2 materials fee.
   
Beginning Tablet WeavingElyn verch GwilimBasic techniques. Learn to weave trim, belts, and more!  This class is limited to 5 participants, though observers are unlimited. 
   
CandlemakingL Hextilda MarshallHow to make modern molded bees wax candles with a discussion of how hand dipped and poured candles were made in period.
   
Chain-mail Jewelry - How to make a Byzantine Chain BraceletSvala GrimsdottirIn this class you will learn how to make a Byzantine Chain bracelet.  There will only be enough supplies for 10 students to work with the chain itself, but all are welcome to observe.  I will be charging $3 for each bracelet if you choose to keep it, if you decide not to keep the bracelet I will gladly use them for gift basket donations.  I will have some pliers, but if you would like to bring your own to use, 2 needle-nose pliers with no teeth are preferred by me.  There will be a few examples of the more complicated chain jewelry that you can create using the basic Byzantine technique.
   
Cross StitchL Gwenore Alexandra Mowbray A class for those both new to the art, as well as those familiar with it.  The history of cross stitch will be discussed as well as different techniques.  Participants will be able to choose and start a project to take home with them.  **There is a $2.00 materials fee for this class.**  Observers are welcome.
   
Doubleface Tablet WeavingElyn verch GwilimAn intermediate technique for those who already know the basics.  This class is limited to 5 participants, though observers are unlimited.
   
Making a 16th Century Beaded BagHL Brygyt d'ArcyWith the creation of pockets the wealthy of England and France looked to these little jewels to hold small items. You'll learn the techniques needed to weave a beautiful seed bead bag just the right size to hold sewing supplies or loose coins. Supplies available for a small fee. Limit 10 hands on participants. Observers welcome.
   
Necklines, Facings, & TrimMistress Constance de BarfleurThis class covers:  Preparing to make necklines and facings; Types of trim and preparing them for use; Easy way to make necklines or change them; Directional sewing of necklines and facings; Applying trim.  (This class combines well with the basic T tunic class)  Students are encouraged to bring in problems/questions they have had for discussion.  There will be a $2 materials fee.
   
Period Headgear - Open Hooded LiripipeL Kateryna atte HegnesIn the 15th century, the open hood with a liripipe was often worn by women in Europe.  It was commonly worn by working class women as seen in Les Tres Riches Heures du Duc de Berry.  See how the hood evolves over the years.  At the end of class, participants can leave with their own pattern.
   
16th Century German Military Womens Clothing Honorable Lady Amalthea von ThungenA Comprehensive overview of the history and construction of 16th Century German military women’s clothing, as based on paintings and woodcuts.  There will be a $1.00 materials fee for this class.
   
Viking Shield MakingL Hjorygg HakonarsonAn introduction to period viking shields:  practical metal working, methods of construction, size, online parts resources and basic philosophy of use. Course is about 45 minutes with some examples and hands-on metalworking.

Bardic 201: Filks on the FlyHonorable Lady Amalthea von Thungen and Aibhilin inghean DaibhidhPractice writing filks and learn tips for starting out on choosing a song to fit your topic, or a topic to fit the song you love.
   
Beginner Bharat Natyam DanceHL Bebhinn O'SiodhachaisDue to time restraints the format of this class has changed.  We will cover body position and movement, hand positions, neck movement, and basic foot steps.  There will be no complete dance.  The class will be open to as many students that want to attend and participate in basic movement.
   
BellydancingMistress ElithaMistress Elitha will be teaching a beginner to intermediate Middle Eastern Dance Class.  She will cover the basics of Posture, Isolation, and Control.  She will then go through a basic warmup followed by an easy choreography incorporating simple but elegant movements that anyone can do.  If time allows, A class on Dance History can also be taught.
   
Introduction to Middle-Eastern DrummingMaster Maredudd ap CynanThis class focuses on drumming for the dancer and will cover the basic strokes used on the doumbek and how they are used to construct a few of the basic middle-eastern rhythms.
   
GreensleevesMelissent-Jaquelinne l'ChanteuseA class constructed to teach a few period musical pieces appropriate for bardic circle, wooing and celebration.
   
JugglingL Ki Yang of DarkwaterLearn the basics of juggling with the standard "Three Ball Cascade".  There will be a $5 materials fee that will allow all students to use and own a set of three (3) balls.

“Ethnic” =/= “Period”- Non-European Sources For FeastsL Madhavi of JaisalmerMedieval cuisine in India or China or Egypt is just as different from their modern cuisine as medieval European food, and changed just as much over the span of history covered by the SCA. Come learn about what some medieval non-European cultures really ate, and where you can find sources for doing your own non-European medieval feast.
   
Introduction to Indian Garb- An Overview of Four Major Styles In India Over The SCA PeriodL Madhavi of Jaisalmer“India” during the medieval period was a huge patchwork of distinct cultures, speaking many languages. There has never been one “Indian garb”. Four distinct time/places will be covered, ranging through Indian history, to help illustrate the wide range of costume and culture in medieval India.
   
An Introduction to Miniature Toys and Collectibles in the SCA PeriodMistress Ceridwen o CahercommaunAn overview of the development of miniature toys and collectibles prior to 1600. The class will include a close up look at a modern recreation of a Tudor "doll's house", and illustrated reference books for browsing.
   
Intro to Medieval CookingPanel DiscussionAn introduction to the art & science of medieval cooking.
   
Kingdom Law & YouMaster Richard MacKenzieThis class will be a Q&A time for the populace.  We will discuss the law as it applies to the populace and comment on any pending changes and ask if there are any changes that the populace feels is needed to the Laws.
   
Mongolian Persona DevelopmentTaran SaraevFleshing out details in Mongolian persona. This class outlines history, dress, culture, languages, resources, stereotypes, names, heraldry, and other oddities for making an in-depth mongol. For the Horde! 
   
Newcomer's ClassCathar of ColquhounDon't miss it! If you have never been to a Newcomers' Class before, or even if you have, then you must see what all the Hulabaloo is about. We will cheerfully go over what the SCA is, nobility, rank, things to do, people to see, and what all those pointy hats are for. We will also talk about courtly graces, the event schedule and have plenty of time for Q & A. So, all you Newcomers and not so Newcomers who have never attended a Newcomers' Class, step right up and join the fun! Who knows! We may even have an SCA Celebrity Guest Star make an appearance. So, don't sleep in!  Come to the Newcomers' Class!
   
Period Viking ArmourL Hjorygg HakonarsonThe best all around armour for SCA style fighting is the 14th century "transitional", but what is the aspiring early period persona to do?  We'll discuss basic styles, not only for vikings but other groups around the same time period. Most importantly, well look at design features or other mechanisms to make the armour period looking, legal and safe.
   
Practicing Period Astronomy 101Taran SaraevAn introduction to practicing period Astronomy. Covers key concepts, resources, demonstration of simple instruments, and ideas for further tinkering. Focus on practice over, while respecting, history and theory. 
   
A Renaissance of the Paternoster-The history, development and cultural impacts of the Paternoster during the 16th century. HL Adelheid LeinwaterDiscover the many influences of European society and religion as it shaped one of the most widespread religious artifact. Receive the knowledge of its expansion from simple prayers to a universal, Papal sanctioned, and vehemently despised form of worship. Have a hands-on opportunity to make one for yourself too!  Bring a friend!
